Maria Callas mail art

In 1996, my Uncle Joe sent me a letter in an envelope decorated with photocopied images of his idol, Maria Callas -- at her most serene and her most ferocious! He saw her perform in Europe and New York, at the old Metropolitan Opera House, of course. And he would play Tosca for me and my sisters as we followed the libretto. He would point out the strengths and weaknesses in her voice. In top form or not, she inspired a devoted following, and she will always remind me of my uncle.
